Child care

In Eksjö child care is a top priority. It offers night-care and week-end care, an out-door kindergarten others that are run co-operatively, and family day-care homes. Schools have leisure-time centres.

Kindergartens

Kindergartens, as well as private child-minders, welcome children from twelve months of age to school age. One of the kindergartens in Eksjö is open in the evening, through the night, and during week-ends, too.

Public pre-school is offered to all children from the beginning of the autumn term of the year your child turns four. It provides a free pre-school teaching program in accordance with the schedule of compulsory school.

After School Recreation

From the beginning of the autumn term of the year your child starts going to pre-school class, it is transferred from day care to after-school recreation, which is usually in the same place as the school. Leisure-time centres welcome children from the ages six to twelve while they are not engaged in school-activities.
